How does your workplace embrace equality?

First things first, whether it is a woman or a man, staff members are all treated with respect at Silly. We have a diverse group of people, coming from different parts of India and socio-economic backgrounds working with us. Everyone working with us is screened basis the knowledge they possess as opposed to the number of years of experience or educational backgrounds. Of course, those are important factors and are looked into. At Silly, interpersonal interactions are given utmost importance. Any and every type of harassment is not tolerated at Silly – we make sure to have open communication with the team on a regular basis, so incase they are facing any issues, we work towards making the workplace safer for all genders.

As a woman, how do you make sure that you embrace equality? When you are the decision maker, how do you make sure you are not gender-biased?

Having worked in a corporate environment, before Silly; I myself understand the importance of equality in all parameters. The willingness to learn, grow and the commitment to change is consequential when it comes to equality in a workplace. At Silly, we look at advancement opportunities and overall consumer experience when making any decisions. Being gender-bias goes out of the question then!

Do you believe that gender-inclusive policies are justified with an increasing number of women in the industry, while still not being a 50% strength or close?

When it comes to gender-inclusive policies, I believe that the ideation and thought process behind it is a step in the right direction. However, we do have a long way to go when it comes down to the pay gaps, pay structures and workplace rights for men & women.
