How does your workplace embrace equality?

An effective organisation is built around cultivating a diverse and inclusive work culture, which is vital to the growth and success of any business in today’s rapidly evolving ecosystem. Embassy Services Pvt. Ltd. (ESPL), as a part of Embassy Group, thrives to build a strong culture, thereby aligning people and its policies. The company has taken various steps towards strengthening the Diversity & Inclusive (D&I) policies to affirm its long-term solidarity with the inclusion agenda. We have formed internal committees to sensitise employees and create a friendly workplace environment. The committee consists of senior leaders from across verticals who will be responsible for developing communication methods to raise awareness and create more opportunities for inclusion. As a responsible corporate, ESPL will continue to focus on formulating transformative solutions that will facilitate inclusive development in India and help in creating an equitable world.

As a woman, how do you make sure that you embrace equality? When you are the decision maker how do you make sure you are not gender biased?

As an employer or leader, it is essential to ensure that everyone in the organization is treated with respect and dignity, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, background, sexuality, or disability. To create an environment of equality and fairness, it is important to focus on skill-based hiring and provide resources and opportunities for each individual to be successful. This means challenging traditional gender roles and expectations, recognising and rewarding merit, and offering equal opportunities for all employees. It is also important to be conscious of potential biases when making decisions, as this can limit the success of employees and perpetuate harmful stereotypes. As leaders, we must strive to be aware of our own biases and take extra steps to ensure that our decisions are not based on gender. At Embassy Services, we promote providing resources and opportunities that enable individuals to be successful, and we challenge traditional gender roles and expectations. We advocate for a culture of equality, fairness, and respect for everyone. We believe that by focusing on the individual’s skills and abilities rather than their gender, we can create an environment of opportunity for everyone.

Do you believe that gender inclusive policies are justified with an increasing number of women in the industry while still not being a 50% strength or close?

Gender-inclusive policies are justified in order to ensure that women are able to access the same opportunities and resources that are available to their male counterparts. This could help to close the gender gap in the workforce, which can lead to increased productivity, better economic growth, and improved diversity in the workplace. Additionally, gender-inclusive policies will help to ensure that organisations are better able to attract and retain talent while also helping to create a more equitable and inclusive workplace environment.
