Mumbai, February 10, 2024: To foster awareness of Thailand’s vibrant destinations and unseen tourist attractions, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Mumbai participated in OTM 2024 held from February 8 to 10 at the Jio World Convention Centre, BKC.

During the event, the representatives from TAT accompanied by 20 prominent sellers, interacted with over 500 members from the travel trade fraternity. The discussions largely revolved around the introduction of new itineraries, valuable insights into the ever-evolving Indian market, and changing preferences of Indian travellers. Notably, the growing affinity of Indian travellers towards experiential, eco-conscious, and culturally enriching exploration aligns perfectly with Thailand’s tourism offerings. The travel partners also gained crucial knowledge of the hidden gems in Northern Thailand, vibrant wedding, and honeymoon destinations, as well as seasonal attractions.

“In 2023, we welcomed 16,28,542 Indians – A testament to Thailand’s growing tourism appeal. This year, our tourism strategy will employ high-value and sustainable initiatives to craft qualitative and meaningful experiences for our guests. In addition, we will promote unexplored destinations and premium experiences that cater to a wide spectrum of travellers. Our interaction with travel trade partners and media at OTM 2024 will set the foundation to accomplish our annual endeavours and further enhance Thailand’s reputation as a prime getaway for Indians.”

Isada Saovaros, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Mumbai

In November last year, Thailand announced visa-exempted entry for Indian tourists until May 10, 2024. This decision aligns with Thailand’s overarching plan outlined in the Strategic Direction 2024, aimed at boosting tourist activity. By adhering to the guidelines outlined in this strategic framework, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) anticipates a significant influx of foreign tourists this year, with an estimated number of 35 million visitors expected to be welcomed.
