We’ve chosen to acknowledge the month dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community by way of changing our logo for entire duration. Understanding them, acceptance and rejection lies at the heart of understanding violence and discrimination. Gender minorities are heavily impacted by the attitudes and beliefs of those around them. We all should work for equality and treat them fairly which can help break down mental health stigmas. It’s interesting to witness their warm acceptance by the GOI and across society.

Here at the Pride Hotels, we respect, offer opportunities and celebrate each human being irrespective of their gender. We deem them to be equals, they are most welcome like our regular guests at all locations for all active packages and offers.

Homosexuality has been a part of world’s history and not just in India, for instance it has been represented in several Hindu temples in India where the depiction of Homosexuality in statues and paintings from the era is still a part of our history. In India, the LGBTQ+ community also includes a specific social group, part religious cult and part caste: the Hijras. They are devotees of Buhuchara Mata, a version of the Indian mother goddess (a Hindu goddess representing chastity and fertility). In modern India homosexuality is legalised but it’s not truly accepted and encouraged. Many social media campaigns and corporate initiatives were launched for increasing awareness among the people.

Being in the industry for last 25 years I believe every guest is equal and they should feel welcomed as it’s okay to express ourselves publicly and the richness, beauty and depths of love can only be accepted with honesty and openness. At Hyatt our purpose is to care for people so that they can be their best and being your best means being your most authentic self. We celebrate LGBTQ + pride worldwide by giving up to 20% off for a stay so that the guests can confidently, comfortably, and proudly stay as you are and celebrate Love and equality in Gender and sexual preference.

Pride Month or Pride Celebrations or Pink Campaigns are something very popular in West and have now got accepted in India too : however Indian Hospitality industry though is vocal about Queer Community acceptance has not done much about the same as a part of their operations.

There is lot more that can be done apart from just the gender neutral washrooms:  gala evenings for the LGBTQ community, Pride Proms, special packages for hotels in the city who is hosting Pride Parade etc.

Yes, things are changing … but still much more is left to be done.

Hyatt Regency Dharamshala Resort

For us in Hyatt Regency Dharamshala Resort, managed by Shanti Hospitality Management Services – every day, every month counts as a PRIDE MOMENT. We do not let people have this queer feeling of being a different person from others. We have come so far as an individual, in terms of self-acceptance and self-love. It’s very powerful to see so many people coming together and having moments of collective effervescence. One of our core values is Respect, and we make sure this runs through the veins of every colleague associated with us. We celebrate PRIDE Month as a well-being month and it is not just for our guests, it is for everyone whosoever relates to us be it a vendor, colleague, or stakeholder.

We believe wellbeing is the ultimate realization of our purpose. Our unique experiences are designed to meet the care factor, foster deeper connections with oneself and those around us, and enhance mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
