JW Marriott Kolkata is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Malvika Sahay as Director of Food and Beverage. She brings with her over a decade of operational expertise in food and beverage across some of the country’s most prestigious hospitality brands. Her expertise in boosting business through process optimization, staff training, and strong brand recall among guests makes her a significant asset to the company.

Malvika’s key responsibility areas include implementation of robust operational processes, ensuring guest satisfaction, developing efficient strategies, and ideating new concepts for revenue generation. She will play an instrumental role in further cementing JW Marriott Kolkata as a gastronomic destination within the City of Joy.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Sahay has worked with some of the leading hotels of the country, such as The Taj Coromandel Chennai, The Taj Mahal New Delhi, The Leela Palace New Delhi and The Ritz Carlton Bangalore. She was responsible for opening Port Muziris, the very first Tribute Portfolio hotel in Kochi. Her abilities in creating and maintaining strong operational processes led to her being a part of the pre-opening Taskforce for the newly launched JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort and Spa.

Throughout her tenure, she has displayed her strengths in the domains of property positioning, planning and executing marketing strategies, developing bespoke dining experiences and team management. These qualities shone through especially during the onset of the Covid 19 pandemic, when she spearheaded revenue initiatives, launched a cloud kitchen concept and managed inventory effectively which resulted in strong financial results for the hotel. Under her leadership, Wasabi at The Taj Mahal Palace New Delhi and Le Cirque at The Leela Palace New Delhi were awarded with The Times Food Guide Awards and Megu at The Leela Palace New Delhi was among Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019.

Malvika is an avid traveler and holds a deep appreciation for all things vintage. She treasures experiential and boutique holidays. In her leisure time, she enjoys expanding her knowledge of cocktails and coffee. She is also a social media geek and loves to experiment with different platforms in her free time.
