INDIA, January 2024: In the midst of the holiday season, a research highlighting an increasing affinity of Indian travelers’ towards winter destinations notably emerges. A travel trends report indicates that 40 percent of travelers gravitate towards the allure of picturesque hill stations and majestic peaks when selecting holiday destinations, echoing the vibrant appeal of winter destinations among Indian tourists.

Another recent study unveiled a substantial shift in the vacation preferences of Indian travelers. According to a recently conducted poll, travelers are now more willing to spend more to immerse themselves in completely new destinations, cultures, experiences and are ready to embrace activities or adventures that typically fall outside their usual pursuits.

Within this landscape of discerning travelers, Japan emerges as one of the most sought winter holiday destinations for Indians. With glistening-white vistas, a plethora of winter sports, snow festivals, winter illuminations, and much more – the country boasts a myriad of experiences for all kinds of thrill seekers.

Set against the backdrop of the aforementioned, Club Med, the pioneer of premium all-inclusive holiday experiences and a global leader in snow vacations has unveiled the 2023 Asia Snow Report by Club Med. The insights highlight that modern travelers are increasingly seeking a comprehensive winter holiday experience, including comfortable accommodation, convenient slope access, expert winter sports instruction, ski equipment rental, delightful cuisine, family-friendly activities, and lively après-ski entertainment.

Corroborating these report findings, Club Med proudly reports record-breaking activity and business volume for its Mountain Resorts in the first half of 2023, with a remarkable 45% year-over-year increase globally.  Furthermore, this growth is fueled by a significant 30% surge in customers and a 10% rise in average daily rates (ADR). This growth is attributed to Club Med’s recent investments in upgrading its resorts, opening new resorts in Hokkaido, Japan and the French Alps and its focus on internationalizing its customer base.

“We are thrilled with the strong business growth we have seen in 2023, driven by our mountain resorts and MICE sector. This growth reinforces the unique value proposition and Club Med’s commitment to providing our guests with exceptional experiences. We are confident that our strategy is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for both leisure and MICE travel.”
