Mumbai, April 17: The Hotel And Restaurant Association (Western India) – HRAWI recently organized a comprehensive Food Safety Supervisor Training in Advance Catering (FoSTaC) programme in collaboration with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The session, held on April 12th at Yogi Metropolitan in Navi Mumbai, gathered 14 hospitality professionals eager to enhance their expertise in maintaining impeccable safety standards within their establishments. The programme, an initiative by FSSAI, aims to equip professionals with essential knowledge and skills necessary for ensuring safe and healthy food practices.

Dr Pasupathy from Parikshan; Ms Manasi Parab, Admin Assistant and Mr Sandeep Bhaud, Assistant IT Manager of HRAWI jointly inaugurated this insightful training session.

Key topics covered during the programme included food handling, preparation, hygiene, sanitation and waste management. By focusing on these crucial areas, participants gained valuable insights and practical skills to seamlessly integrate stringent food safety protocols into their daily operational routines.

HRAWI has so far successfully trained and certified 2956 professionals through FSSAI’s FoSTaC Training Programme.

The Hotel And Restaurant Association (Western India) – HRAWI is a 73 years old Association of Hotels and Restaurants in Western India. Its members include Restaurants and Hotels up to 5-Star Deluxe categories. With membership base spread across Western India, HRAWI covers Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa and Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, and is considered to be the voice of the Hospitality Industry. The association is part of the national body of the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), located in New Delhi, which was originally founded in Mumbai in 1950 by the late Mr J.R.D. Tata.
