Hospitality Industry is a vast segment of the service industry but if we talk about Hotels & Restaurants along with travel & tourism, the industry has seen a surge in demand in all aspects, be it MICE, corporate, social or transit demand. The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on every industry in the world, and the hotel sector was forced to change drastically in order to survive and developed well.

If we looked at guests, they are looking for a clean & hygienic environment for their stay and nice food to relax with their family & friends. After the gap of the pandemic, people started traveling and exploring new places. They have started planning short family trips, weekend trips, and exploring new cuisines with their loved ones. Hence, hotels had to adopt some changes to facilitate social distancing, elevate property-wide hygiene, and ensure the safety of their guests.

Technology will play a vital role in the upcoming years when contacts will be minimized such as e-menu, contactless check-in & check-out, online billing, and much more.

One of the challenges that the Industry is facing post-pandemic is the lack of skilled manpower as intakes for hospitality colleges are less in the last couple of years and the current fresher’s are more focused on earning instead of learning. Understanding the need of guests and staff, management has to initiate a skill development program to create a future leader and give support to this hospitality Industry.
