Vineet Verma,

Director, brigade Hospitality

“The theme for the World Tourism Day 2022, has most appropriately been chosen as ‘Rethinking Tourism’. The pandemic, that is mostly behind us, has compelled us to think differently and it is for this very reason that Tourism across the globe is back with a vengeance. But let this not be a ‘flash in the pan’. Let us all work together and ensure that Tourism continues to grow to unprecedented levels in the days ahead. Both the private sector and the governments, who are already appreciative of the importance of Tourism in a country’s economic success, need to push for a much larger contribution in ensuring far better facilities and infrastructure. This is the only way we can hope to grow domestic tourism and also attract a much larger international audience.”

Shruti Shibulal

CEO & Director, Tamara Leisure Experiences Pvt. Ltd

As a holistically responsible hospitality group, Tamara’s core philosophy is to harmonise people, planet and profit. People, above all else, are vital to the success of this triple mandate. As benefactors of a sustainable world, as travellers who become part of its story and as active agents who can drive lasting change, people remain central to both the ideas and practices that will bring a sustainable shift in tourism. That and why we believe it is essential and extremely rewarding to put people first: our guests, our teams and, most importantly, the communities in which we operate.
As we “Rethink Tourism” on World Tourism Day today, we recognise that this highly
interconnected industry with the ability to influence many other markets is a crucial pillar of
global development. It can therefore be a powerful catalyst for the kind of transformation that protects resources, uplifts economies and benefits future generations.

Travel thoughtfully, build responsibly.

Anil Malani,

CEO, Deltin

“The theme for the World Tourism Day 2022 is ‘Rethinking Tourism’; and not only tourism, it applies to the entire travel, tourism and hospitality industry. The unprecedented times of the pandemic has taught the sector many lessons and brought out many innovations within. The industry has shown its resilience and has proven its merit in sustaining one of toughest times humankind has ever faced. Today, as the world begins to emerge from lockdowns and gets accustomed to travelling again, we have truly realised the potential of the sector and how much it contributes to the overall economy of the country and the world at large. It is heart-warming to see, travellers, many of whom have been largely confined to their homes for months, are starting to see the world, once again.”

“As the travel reopens across India, tourism, as a sector, has not only bounced back, it is exceeding the pre-pandemic levels. Organizations are thinking and rethinking on their feet to the finest of details. Right from providing the guests with safer travel experiences, to adapting to more hygienic ways of operations, all stakeholders have their skin in the game and keeping guests/customers at the center stage. Tourism has emerged as one of the most lucrative sectors post pandemic and continues to see upward growth. As the number of travelers expands, the industry is adapting to the evolving trends by taking efforts in generating trust by providing information, support and being flexible in their processes & operations. Technology and digitization has also started playing an important part in the industry post the pandemic. Overall, the industry has come out stronger from the pandemic and I think the way is only northbound from here.”
