With a commitment to working towards a sustainable tomorrow, the Cenizaro Cares Programme gives back to the environment, its people, and the community in which it operates. A Green Committee in each of our properties takes care of these factors.
We run upskilling programmes and cross-property training for our staff suitable for both professional and personal lives.
The Dollar-A-Day checkout donation initiative invites hotel guests as well as the company (through a capped matching donation, annually) to make a substantial contribution to the environment and local communities.
The team has established strong relationships with local communities in each destination (Maldives, Mauritius, Zanzibar, Tunis, and Bintan) and works closely with them to encourage environmental stewardship and drive sustainability activities. We regularly work with our staff and their families for activities such as beach cleaning and community gardening.
The Residence Maldives
The Residence Maldives runs an Internship Programme with Gaafu Alifu School that offers a 30-day internship for 6 students studying Hospitality. It has hosted Field Trips for Mamendhoo & Vilingili School to learn about the hospitality industry, a Teacher’s Day Appreciation Dinner for Mamendhoo School teachers, and donated Compost Machine for local agriculture to Nilandhoo Island Council. Additionally, the Residence Maldives will be donating their funds to various causes, such as a local hospital in Villingili Atoll, and Dhaandhoo Pre-school to improve their facilities.
The Residence Bintan
The Residence Bintan runs Community Services at Grotto St Mary (Malang Rapat, Bintan), participated in blood donation events conducted by the Red Cross Society, run English classes for children (to restart January 2023), donates books to the orphanage, pre-loved toys for nearby kindergarten, run a liquid soap dispenser program, and promotes local artists and locally handcrafted goods.
