“Much like the usual trend, we expect that the overall contribution of business travel will increase over leisure in the monsoon period across July – September. This differs from the summer and winter quarters, where leisure travel takes precedence.

On the leisure front, it is also a prime window for deal seekers looking to indulge in premium experiences at reduced spending since premium hotel tariffs tend to decline compared to the peak summer season. Monsoon is also the optimal period for culture, nature, and adventure enthusiasts to appreciate unique experiences such as trekking in the Western Ghats or rejuvenating retreats in the laps of lush green landscapes. This preference is exemplified by locations such as Ooty, Lonavala, Mahabaleshwar, Wayanad, Munnar, Pondicherry, Udaipur, Manali, and Rishikesh being the most sought-after, per on-platform data.

While Goa continues to be the most preferred leisure destination on the holiday packages front, we are also seeing traction for Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kashmir, and Rajasthan. In the religious travel segment, Varanasi, Tirupati, Rameswaram, Dwarka, and Madurai currently lead the pack in terms of inquiries.”
