(India, 30 July 2024) – Following its firm order of 20 A330neo widebodies, Vietjet and Rolls-Royce, a leading British aerospace and defense company, signed an agreement at the 2024 Farnborough International Airshow for 40 Trent 7000 engines and the TotalCare engine service to power these A330neo aircraft.
The Trent 7000 is a cutting-edge, new-generation engine developed by Rolls-Royce with a focus on environmental protection and sustainability. Vietjet has chosen the A330neo/Trent 7000 combination for its 14% improved fuel efficiency per seat and significantly lower emissions. This reduction in emissions will allow the airline to avoid over one hundred thousand tons of CO2 over each aircraft’s lifetime.
TotalCare is an industry-leading premium service supported by data from Rolls-Royce’s advanced engine health monitoring system, providing customers with increased operational availability, reliability, and efficiency. The agreement will also extend the airline’s existing TotalCare coverage for the Trent 700-powered A330ceo fleet.
Further highlighting its global strategic partnerships, Vietjet and Lufthansa Technik, the world’s leading MRO provider, signed an exclusive Total Component Support (TCS) agreement. This signing ceremony marks a significant milestone in the long-standing partnership between the two companies.
This comprehensive multi-year agreement, covering 184 Airbus A320 family aircraft and 9 Airbus A330 aircraft, will commence in October 2024. It includes extensive component services for Vietjet’s expanding fleet, ensuring the airline’s operational excellence and the highest maintenance standards. This agreement represents the largest TCS contract Lufthansa Technik has secured in the Southeast Asia region.
Additionally, in India, the airline has established several strategic expansions, operating a total of 29 weekly round-trip flights and creating direct connections between Vietnam and four key Indian cities – New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Kochi. VietJet’s footprint and connectivity between Vietnam and India are well established, expanding through modern fleets, dedicated crews, and attractive promotions specific to Indian customers.
