Sheraton Grand Palace Indore successfully hosts the G-20 Agriculture Summit

National, 21st February 2023: Indore, is becoming increasingly known for its hospitality, cleanliness and food – not just domestically but internationally as well. Recently, the G-20 Agriculture Summit was held at Sheraton Grand Palace Indore from the 13th of February to the 15th of February, bringing representatives from 29 countries to the city. The foreign delegates were impressed by the traditional welcome they received and got a glimpse of the culture along with the delectable millet dishes.
The guests arriving for the G-20 Summit at the Hotel, were welcomed with a traditional aarti ceremony. They were also given chanderi shawls and bagh print dupattas as gifts. Rajasthani artists played drums as the guests entered the lobby, and there was a beautiful millet rangoli on the floor. The guests’ rooms had towels with welcome messages written in their native languages, and they were also given aprons that said “I love omelets.” Other room amenities included fresh fruit and a special welcome kit based on millet. As a souvenir from the event, their pictures clicked during the reception and were framed.
The representatives of G-20 countries who visited Indore, appreciated the hospitality at the property and described it as a lifelong memory. The exhibition of products from farmers cultivating millets and organics, as well as the stall exhibition of animal husbandry and fisheries, was also an attraction at the event.
“It was a matter of pride for us to be a part of this global event. We are very grateful to the Madhya Pradesh government for trusting us with this responsibility. It was a huge responsibility for us, as not only Madhya Pradesh, but the whole country’s reputation was attached to the event. We are glad that everyone was satisfied with our hospitality and that we were able to meet all expectations. Our food was praised by all the foreign guests as well as Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Ji Chouhan, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, and Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Manoj Ahuja. The representatives of G-20 countries expressed their experiences and opinions based on a review at the Sheraton Grand Palace Indore. In this, everyone expressed gratitude to the people of Indore for their love and hospitality. Someone wrote that they loved the spirit, experiences, and hospitality of Indore and that they would take home many memories. A few delegates praised the hotel for its hospitality and services, writing that the staff made them feel at ease. IAS Ritesh Chauhan praised the Hotel. The local administration also helped the hotel achieve this milestone.

Millet dishes won the hearts of foreign guests:
This year has been declared the International Year of Millet by the government. Millets, are part of India’s ancient heritage and have been cultivated for thousands of years. Sheraton Grand Palace Indore hosted a three-day event celebrating this grain, with a focus on its use in cuisine. The event was divided into three themes:
- The first day featured an apple theme: Apple infused beverages, Apple Jalebi, Jowar Pani Puri, and Bajra Pakodas. The Puff Millet Jalebi with Rabri and Bajra Gulab Jamun were loved by all.
- The second day featured a coconut theme, with coconut cake, mocktails, jowar and jackfruit haleem karari jalebi ki chaat. Bajra’s Barfi, Bikaneri Halwa, Gulab Kheer, and Indori Mawa Baati were served for sweets.
- And the third day’s feature was an Indori theme: Indori Chai, Indori Shikanji, Rabri-Malpua, Jodhpuri Mewa Pulao, Ghee-Bhat, Millet Pulao, Kaju Katli, and Sheer Korma were served.
