New Delhi, 1st November’23: The Republic of Türkiye celebrated its 100th Anniversary, a momentous milestone in its national narrative, at the Ambassador’s residence in New Delhi on 30th October. The august occasion was marked with grandeur and festivity in a gathering that brought together dignitaries from the worlds of business, politics, tourism, culture, and art. To honour the event, New Delhi’s iconic monument Qutub Minar was illuminated with a Turkish flag in commemoration of the country’s 100th anniversary.

The reception hosted by the Ambassador was graced by about 500 eminent guests including Indian authorities, Indian friends, Turkish citizens as well as Ambassadors and diplomats. This gathering celebrated the richness of Türkiye’s cultural heritage with mesmerizing Turkish classical music performances by Turkish musicians visiting India for the Republic’s 100th year reception. Some of the signature dishes from the delectable Turkish cuisine served to the guests were kebap and döner, Turkish olive oil mezzes, Turkish ice cream and baklava cooked and prepared by Turkish chefs travelled from Türkiye. Adding to the celebratory fervor of the evening, lucky draws which included flight tickets and vacation vouchers in popular tourist places in Türkiye were also conducted during the event, taking the excitement quotient of the guests a few notches higher.
