Chef Rohit Mattummal brings over a decade of experience in the hospitality industry to Navi Mumbai Marriott Hotel, specializing in Chinese, Thai, and Japanese cuisines. He is known for his ability to create exceptional dishes that balance traditional flavors with modern twists. Chef Rohit’s journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management & Catering Technology from Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Mandir, SPH College of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Nashik, where he graduated with first-class honors. His academic background laid a solid foundation for a distinguished culinary career marked by dedication and excellence.

Chef Rohit’s professional journey includes significant roles at renowned establishments. Most recently, he served as Chef de Cuisine at Kempinski, Marsa Malaz – The Pearl in Doha, Qatar, where he oversaw various kitchen departments, managed outdoor catering for VIP events, and maintained the highest standards of hygiene and safety. Prior to this, he was Chef de Cuisine at Kempinski, Barbaros Bay in Bodrum, Turkey, where he led a team in preparing and presenting Asian-inspired dishes, developed seasonal menus, and implemented cost-effective strategies. Chef Rohit’s tenure at The Oberoi in Bengaluru, India, saw him play a pivotal role in launching two new restaurants, developing menus, and receiving recognition for exceptional performance and training contributions. At Express Inn in Nashik, Maharashtra, India, he managed banquet operations for Asian cuisine and collaborated with the Executive Chef in menu planning. His earlier experience at The Oberoi- Trident in Mumbai, India, involved overseeing various sections, handling bulk orders, and maintaining high standards and hygiene in a Pan-Asian specialty restaurant.

Known for his proficiency in SE Asian, Indian, and International cuisine, Chef Rohit excels in sourcing premium ingredients, orchestrating successful pre-opening strategies, conducting comprehensive staff training, and skillfully managing budgets. As a multilingual professional fluent in English, Hindi, Marathi, and Malayalam, with basic proficiency in French, Chef Rohit effortlessly guides service teams and delivers exceptional customer service.
