Karnataka Tourism concluded its participation at the recent India International Travel Mart (IITM) in Chennai with resounding success. The event provided an exceptional platform to showcase the state’s diverse tourism offerings to a wide audience of travel trade professionals, generating significant interest and enthusiasm.

The event featured more than 200 exhibitors, including travel agents, tour operators, hotels, and national tourism offices, representing more than eight international destinations and 20 Indian states. Karnataka, a state rich in history, culture, and natural beauty, highlighted its iconic destinations, including the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Hampi, Pattadakal, and Sacred Ensembles of the Hoysala.

Karnataka’s pristine beaches like Gokarna and Devbagh, lush hill stations such as Coorg, Chikmagalur, Kodaikanal, Nandi Hills, and Munnar, and thriving wildlife sanctuaries like Kaveri Wildlife Sanctuary and Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, along with national parks such as Bandipur and Bannerghatta National Parks, were also prominently showcased.

The Karnataka Tourism delegation engaged in fruitful discussions with travel agents, tour operators, and industry stakeholders to explore collaboration opportunities. The event witnessed keen interest in Karnataka’s unique blend of heritage, adventure, and wellness tourism. Attendees were particularly impressed by the state’s commitment to sustainable tourism and its efforts to preserve its rich cultural heritage. Several B2B meetings were held to discuss potential partnerships and collaborations.

In a crowning achievement, the Karnataka Tourism Pavilion was honored with the “Medical Tourism Destination of the Year” award, recognizing the state’s excellence in providing top-notch healthcare services to tourists.

The participation at IITM Chennai has laid a strong foundation for boosting tourism to Karnataka from the southern region of India. The department is optimistic about witnessing a surge in visitor arrivals in the coming months. Karnataka Tourism remains committed to further strengthening its presence in the market through strategic partnerships and promotional activities.
