Hyderabad, August 27th, 2024 – ITC Kakatiya is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Abhishekh Menon as the new General Manager. With nearly two decades of dedicated service to ITC Hotels, Mr. Menon brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to hospitality excellence.

Mr. Menon began his journey with ITC Hotels in 2006, after graduating from the Welcomgroup Management Institute. His career has been marked by significant milestones, including his tenure at the iconic ITC Maurya, where he played a pivotal role in managing the Front Office during high-profile events, such as the visits of two U.S. Presidents and the President of Russia, along with numerous other heads of state. Reflecting on his four years at ITC Maurya, Mr. Menon shares, “While some may survive such challenges, I believe I thrived.”

In 2020, Mr. Menon took on a new challenge at ITC Grand Goa, overseeing a comprehensive renovation of the hotel’s rooms and restaurants—a transformation that received widespread acclaim from loyal ITC patrons. Two years later, he transitioned to ITC Royal Bengal, a property he describes as “an emotion to the Bengalis like no other in the city of joy.” With weekend footfalls sometimes approaching 3,000, his time at ITC Royal Bengal was nothing short of extraordinary.

Mr. Menon is guided by the African philosophy of “Ubuntu – Humanity to others.” He believes that true service comes from the heart and cautions against letting it become merely transactional. A passionate sportsman, he applies lessons from the field to his leadership strategies, always emphasizing the importance of customer connection as the critical link between strategy and sales.

For Mr. Menon, returning to ITC Kakatiya is a full-circle moment. It was here that he had his first posting as Assistant Manager of Front Office, followed by his first role as a Head of Department. Now, as General Manager, he sees his appointment as nothing short of a blessing. “If I had to choose one hotel to begin my leadership journey, it would be ITC Kakatiya—a legacy of 30 years that has withstood the test of time. The hotel still takes my breath away,” he says.

Mr. Menon’s ties to ITC Kakatiya run deep. It was here that he met his wife, a former hotelier who is now a successful home baker. Together, they have a lovely daughter, Aahana, who recently turned 10, and two fur babies who complete their beautiful family.

As the General Manager of ITC Kakatiya, Mr. Menon is committed to enhancing the hotel’s reputation as a premier luxury destination in Hyderabad. He aims to cultivate a culture of excellence and innovation, ensuring that every guest experience is both memorable and unique.
