India, 25th October 2024 – The Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) marked a successful return to ITB Asia after 16-years, held in Singapore from October 23 to 25. IMOT’s participation, despite ongoing challenges in Israel, underscores its commitment to reconnecting with key markets in the region and promoting the country’s diverse tourism offerings. The IMOT pavilion featured the theme ‘Pilgrims of Hope,’ reflecting the upcoming 2025 Jubilee Year, which aims to draw pilgrims and spiritual travellers from around the world.

The Israeli delegation included Peleg Pablo Lewi, Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Minister; Hassan Madah, Director of International Marketing; and senior representatives from Asian offices, including Amruta Bangera, Director of Marketing (India); Anna Oraiza Aban, Marketing Manager (Philippines); and Roy Kriezman, Consul Tourism Affairs (China).

“ITB Asia 2024 has provided an excellent platform to showcase Israel’s unique offerings to a new generation of travellers from Asia. The continent, including countries like India, Philippines, South Korea, etc. has always been a strategic market, and we are enthusiastic about its growth potential. Our engagement with Indian travel professionals and media attending the trade show has been extremely rewarding, and we are confident that the strengthened ties will lead to greater interest in Israel as a premier destination for Indian travellers.”

Amruta Bangera, Director of Marketing, Israel Ministry of Tourism

The focal point of Israel’s pavilion was the 2025 Jubilee Year, an event held every 25 years that holds great religious significance. It is expected to attract tourists and present them with the opportunity to obtain indulgences by visiting sacred sites such as the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem and the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth.

As Israel prepares for the Jubilee Year in 2025, IMOT remains focused on promoting the country as a destination rich in history, culture, sustainability and spirituality. The ministry looks forward to building on the connections made at ITB Asia to enhance tourism collaboration and increase travel from India.
