The pandemic-induced travel restrictions did make an impact on wedding trends and the mindset of those getting married. As week-long weddings gave way to weekend affairs and guest lists kept shrinking, the concept of intimate weddings fascinated millennials who have always longed for cosy, small weddings. With sustainability being the buzzword and many celebrities practicing and advocating it, intimate weddings made their way into Indian weddings.

An intimate wedding is the choice of the millennials and is a growing trend. An intimate affair not only makes celebrations much more enticing but also makes sure that you stay surrounded by people who mean the most to you.  Couples use intimate weddings as an opportunity to make their dream wedding a reality. With a smaller guest list, you’re able to spend more money per guest, which means that your fairy-tale decor, your dream photographer, or a beautiful destination wedding becomes a more viable option. With intimate weddings, you do not miss out on the fun factor that traditional weddings entail. It’s just that you celebrate in the company of your near and dear ones.

As much as big fat weddings have become a popular practice, intimate weddings with close family and friends is still preferred by many. With the bifurcation of society into GenZ and millennials, we now know as pompous as millennials are, the more subtle GenZ is. Hence, weddings are always going to be a grand festival which brings in a wave of celebration and joy – some might go over the top with it or some might bring in that warm feeling with their tightly knitted ones. Love shall always win with smiles be it

Big or small, weddings are once-in-a-lifetime occasions. While keeping everyone’s safety as the top priority, the preferred model seems to have shifted from large, elaborate events to a variety of smaller ones, such as close-knit weddings and hybrid weddings. Virtual and physical components are effectively combined in hybrid weddings. A recent survey showed over 33% of millennial and Gen Z couples want a smaller gathering on their big day keeping it to 100 to 250 guests. By limiting the number of guests who physically attend the wedding, these formats encourage sustainability and lessen the carbon footprint. Additionally, it makes visitors from other countries more accessible and offers them a chance to share these priceless moments with their loved ones. Weddings that combine in-person and virtual celebrations have become extremely popular, and we might just see more of this trend for a long time coming. This includes anything from setting up live streaming to having food delivered to guests who are participating remotely. Having said that, the majority of Indians would still choose big, lavish weddings, and we firmly believe that nothing can replace them.

  • Mid-scale Weddings is becoming the new trend amongst millennials
  • Millennials want to bear their wedding expenses themselves fully or partially.
  • While the essence of Indian weddings stays intact, millennials are increasingly choosing to celebrate their special day with close friends and family.
  • Due to the wedding technology platform like Wed me good, Wedding wire and other hotels personal portal, it’s easier for them to connect with wedding professionals and compare as per their budget
