Since 2013, Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway has adopted the village of Channapura. A small village at the outskirts of Bangalore, and the foothills of Nandi hills is the home to more than 400+ residents. Residents live in a beautiful and scenic environment, but they face challenges on a daily basis due to the rough and inaccessible roads. This has resulted in a lack of transportation facilities, which has hampered access to critical resources such as healthcare, housing and sanitation infrastructure, modern school facilities, and upgraded lighting systems. To make a difference in the lives of its residents, the Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway has partnered with an NGO called Sri Sai Healing Trust.
The hotel is committed to transforming Channapura village by contributing to its residents’ healthcare, water, sanitation, educational, and nutritional needs. Every quarter, the hotel fumigates the village’s public spaces, organises monthly health check-ups, provides school supplies, performs electrical maintenance, and has installed over 100 solar bulbs to promote sustainable energy.
Sheraton Grand Bangalore at Brigade Gateway has a legacy of actively participating in social causes. The pandemic, on the other hand, has reminded us of our responsibilities and duties as a community. By adopting the village of Channapura, the hotel can contribute to the village’s development and sustainability. We believe in the saying, we can flourish only when our community flourishes and this is our way of putting that ideology into practice.
