Conclave To Encompass Range Of Hospitality Best Practices, From Hotel Classification To Fire Safety Strategies
Mumbai, March 20: The Hotel And Restaurant Association (Western India) – HRAWI in conjunction with the Poona Hoteliers Association (PHA) is set to host a transformative conclave titled ‘Empowering Hospitality’ on Thursday, March 21, 2024. Scheduled from 10 am to 1 pm, the event will take place at the Raddison Blu Hotel in Pune. Delving into the heart of hospitality excellence, the conclave will encompass a spectrum of topics, notably focusing on ‘Fire Life Safety Strategies for Hotels’ and ‘Classification & Industry Status of Hotels’. Distinguished speakers, Mr Hemant Khadse, CEO of East Crop Group; and Ms Subha Bhaskar, COO of Qual Star Pvt Ltd, will take centre stage at the event, sharing invaluable insights and industry-leading practices.
Noteworthy dignitaries attending the conclave include Mr Devendra Potphode – Chief Fire Officer, Pune; Ms Shama S. Pawar – Deputy Collector, Pune; and Mr Suresh M. Talera, President of Honour – PHA & Past President of HRAWI.

Addressing critical aspects of fire life safety strategies for hotels, Mr Hemant Khadse, accompanied by Mr Devendra Potphode, will delve into multifaceted dimensions including fire safety risk assessments, the ramifications of codes and compliances, implementation of passive fire safety measures, meticulous egress planning and the imperative of FLS audits and preventive strategies.
Alongside, Ms Subha Bhaskar, in collaboration with Ms Shama S. Pawar, will navigate participants through the intricacies of hotel classification and industry status. The Hotel And Restaurant Association (Western India) – HRAWI is a 73 years old Association of Hotels and Restaurants in Western India. Its members include Restaurants and Hotels up to 5-Star Deluxe categories. With membership base spread across Western India, HRAWI covers Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa and Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, and is considered to be the voice of the Hospitality Industry. The association is part of the national body of the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), located in New Delhi, which was originally founded in Mumbai in 1950 by the late Mr J.R.D. Tata.
