Mumbai, Dec 21: The Hotel And Restaurant Association (Western India) – HRAWI has submitted a representation to Smt. Radhika Rastogi (I.A.S.), Principal Secretary, Home Department; Shri Rajnish Seth (IPS), Director General of Police and Shri Vivek Phansalkar (IPS), Commissioner of Police, Mumbai requesting for extension of timings for all the Food and Beverage Licensed Establishments in the State, at least up to 05 a.m. for the festive dates of 24th, 25th and 31st December 2023. The Association, representing the hospitality industry, pledges to uphold stringent safety measures and adhere to protocols to ensure the well-being of guests, as it has consistently done.
“As we approach the joyous celebrations of Christmas and New Year, the hospitality industry looks forward to welcoming guests with open arms. We at HRAWI recognize the significance of these festive occasions and, while prioritizing the safety and comfort of our patrons, we respectfully request the Maharashtra Government to extend the operational hours for hotels and restaurants until 5 a.m. on December 24th, 25th and 31st, 2023. Our members are committed to upholding the highest standards of safety protocols and this extension would enable us to curate memorable experiences for our guests during this special time of the year,”
Pradeep Shetty, President, HRAWI.
HRAWI has appealed for a prompt and positive response from the Government to allow hotels and restaurants sufficient time to plan and organize activities around these significant events.
“Restaurants are an integral part of Christmas and New Year celebrations. The season attracts a large number of tourists to cities and towns that celebrate late into the night. The extension of timelines, consistently, year after year, will lead to a larger number of seasonal tourist inflow to the State. This will help restaurants to plan packages and programmes, which in turn will lead to a generation of higher revenues to the State and additional employment,” concludes Mr Shetty.
