Mumbai, Jan 12: The Hotel And Restaurant Association (Western India) – HRAWI has extended congratulations to the Maha Government on the momentous inauguration of the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), officially known as Atal Setu. The HRAWI has stated that the Atal Setu’s strategic connectivity will not only provide swift access to the Mumbai International Airport but also streamline connectivity to the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport. Furthermore, with reduced travel times to key tourist destinations like Lonavala, Matheran, Mahabaleshwar, Pune, Alibaug, Goa and other southern regions, the Association expects the bridge to be a boon for tourism and hospitality in the State.

Presided over by Hon’ble PM – Shri Narendra Modi, MTHL’s inauguration took place today (January 12^th, 2024) marking a historic milestone in India’s infrastructure development and a game-changer for Mumbai’s connectivity.

The MTHL is not just a bridge; it is a catalyst for progress, promoting economic development and enhancing the overall quality of life for the people of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The tourism sector too is poised to experience a substantial boost. The strategic connectivity will have a multiplier effect, aiding accessibility and promoting tourism to other parts of the State from Mumbai. With improved accessibility, popular weekend destinations such as Lonavala, Matheran, Mahabaleshwar and Alibaug will become more accessible, making travel more convenient for both locals and tourists,”

This engineering marvel, stretching across an impressive 21.8 kilometres (13.5 miles), has officially become the country’s longest sea bridge.

With membership base spread across Western India, HRAWI covers Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa and Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, and is considered to be the voice of the Hospitality Industry.
