New Delhi, – An inspiring felicitation ceremony was held at The Ashok Hotel, New Delhi, to celebrate India’s champions in hospitality skills from the prestigious WorldSkills competition in Lyon, France. The awards were presented by the Honorable Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri Jayant Singh, who recognized the winners and their expert mentors for their remarkable contributions in hospitality skills.

The event highlighted the exceptional talent, dedication, and achievements of India’s participants on the global platform, with attendance from distinguished dignitaries, including Mr. Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, MSDE, and Mr. Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Managing Director, NSDC International (NSDCI). Also present were Ms. Jyoti Mayal, Chairperson, and Mr. Rajan Bahadur, CEO, who expressed pride in the accomplishments of the winners and their mentors.

“The success of our champions at WorldSkills is not just a testament to their individual talent and hard work but also a reflection of the commitment to excellence within the Indian hospitality sector. Their achievements on the global stage inspire us all, showcasing the immense potential of our skilled workforce. We must continue to invest in and support these talented individuals as they pave the way for the future of hospitality in India, demonstrating that with skill, determination, and passion, we can compete and succeed internationally.”

Rajan Bahadur, CEO

The Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC), a non-profit established in 2014 and promoted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) , tackles the challenge of skilling India’s hospitality workforce. Working with government, industry associations, and training institutes, THSC creates a robust skilling ecosystem encompassing all sub-sectors (hotels, tour operators, restaurants, facilities management, cruise lines). As an approved awarding body under NCVET, THSC empowers youth through industry-aligned training and certifications, bridging the skills gap and shaping a future-ready workforce.
