Let’s make the world a cleaner, greener and healthier place – Sharad Upadhyay

Delhi/Gr. Noida, 24th April 2023; To give back to the environment in which we live as well as responsible humans, Sharad K. Upadhyay, General Manager, Hotel Crowne Plaza Greater Noida led a plantation drive in collaboration with Social Action for Forest & Environment Organisation. To mark the World Earth Day celebrations, GM along with employees from the Hotel and members of the Savegreen, planted 100+ saplings in Dadri and around the Hotel Vicinity.

Talking about the Earth Day, Sharad K. Upadhyay, GM, CPGN said, it’s important to give back to the environment we live in, and just a day is not sufficient. Rather, we should try and put efforts on a regular and urgent basis to save our planet earth. Earth day is an important day, it brings much-needed attention to various concerns related to the environment. It is important for all of us to recognize and celebrate this day to help spread awareness and do our bit to contribute to the environment, so that it can help reduce the dangers to the environment.

As responsible corporates, we at IHG and CPGN ensure eco-friendly, sustainable practices to provide an amazing experience to our guests, friends and patrons. To mark World Earth Day, we plan this tree plantation drive, as I personally believe a tree plantation helps in many ways, it helps beautify the area, is environmentally friendly, they help produce oxygen and filter out pollutants. It’s one best thing to contribute to the environment, and if finding a challenge where to plant, one’s own yard is the best place, he added. He appealed to his colleagues and all to try and Let’s make the world a cleaner, greener and healthier place.

On the occasion, HR at CPGN, Tirtha Roy Chaudhary said, Healthy and eco-friendly habits can help lead a healthy environment, green atmosphere and good health to all. Today, there’s an urgent need to address the environmental challenges; waste reduction, biodiversity loss, climate change. We as corporates, individuals or a group should take up the responsibility to secure a better future for the planet, to make an effort in reducing carbon footprint, being aware about the environment and to take the right decision towards a sustainable, resilient future.

At IHG we strive to keep the environment healthy and eco-friendly, we keep doing the mock-drills to ensure our staff is ready for different situations and from time to time we do cleanliness drives to keep Hotel and surroundings clean. To contribute to the environment, we try to ensure that our team remains upfront with a handful of their responsibilities to keep the environment clean and not to waste food or other stuff that hurt the environment anyhow, he added.

At IHG Hotels & Resorts we have one “Journey to Tomorrow” initiative, which is a series of ambitious new commitments to make a positive difference for our people, communities, and planet over the next decade. Guided by IHG’s purpose to provide True Hospitality for Good, we will work side by side with those who stay, work, and partner with us, to help shape the future of responsible travel, concludes Tirtha Roy Chaudhary.
