Major factors behind the growth of Wine tourism in India?

Indians today travel across the globe and are exposed to the best fine dining. Since wines are also an integral part of the fine dining culture, naturally the exposure to wines has also increased. That is the reason, the consumption of wine has risen exponentially in the last decade or so. Due to it, there has been a wider acceptance of the wines which has led to many Indian companies starting to produce quality wines.

How has the placement/ demand of wine in Hotels changed over time?

Over a period of time, wine has acquired an image of being a more sophisticated and stylish drink as compared to whiskey, scotch and other drinks. The perception of wine as a healthier alternative plays a significant role in promoting wine among women. Earlier consumers used to order imported wine but the growth and demand of domestic wines like SULA, Four Seasons in the Indian market has forced the hospitality industry to change from international to domestic brands as well

Wine has become an essential part of the menu in today’s dining experience. What are the key factors in managing and serving the diners’ wine options?

Heavy wines or the ones having a lot of acidity are not advisable for the beginners. The restaurant manager has to inform the guest about the wines that compliment the cuisine of the restaurant.

Wines like Bordeaux wines are a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot and Malbec none of which are high in acidity.

According to you, how has the wine industry evolved over time in terms of supply as well as customer demand? How has it been impactful for your brand?

Wine Production and Consumption have witnessed rapid development in the last few decades, which has resulted in its increased consumption pattern. Nowadays social engagement and modernization are some of the factors promoting wine socialization among consumers. Indian wines like  Red/white/rose or sparkling are in great demand
