Mental health is an integral and essential component of health. It is a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, can keep up and get through with the normal strains and hassles of life, can work productively and is able to make a positive contribution to his or her community.
Mental health comprises our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It influences how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. It can affect daily living, relationships, and physical health.
Reaching out for mental health is not just when you are facing problems, but ideally should be so that problems do not arise in the journey to the level where it becomes complicated, not solvable, it becomes a real problem to deal with. Everything may be going fine in one’s life but having a problem statement is necessary.
One may reach out to be a partner in a relationship, a better human being overall, a better parent, a better version of themselves, heal their body, discover the authentic version of themselves or simply grow leaps and bounds in their career, wealth creation and more.
Achieving breakthroughs – mental, emotional or spiritual can change and better one’s course of life. It can also alter one’s decisions, hence one’s future. We can all get very satisfied easily with what we have, how things are and wait for sudden natural or man-made circumstances to enforce change.
Change is a constant and is a part of the universal laws on the basis of which everything functions. Change brings healing and growth.
For example, there was a man who used to run a store for more than half a century just the way it was and never believed in changing it even though everything was breaking down. While he also desires growth at the same time. Few months later, randomly a fire caught up at his store and burned it all down so he would have to re-do it. After this change, he actually experienced the growth he desired.
We’ve all had buried emotions and feelings but don’t find it necessary to address them, cause we fear change. Or one more thing to do on our list if you discovered something about yourself. And our conditioning says – “why to change things at all if it’s something small that is bothersome but if you can rather just adjust, accept and live with it?”
And this conditioning invites bigger problems to feel the need to seek help with mental health. But if we change this and turn it around, Mental health won’t need a problem statement. As we work so hard, to invest in our child’s bright future, education, materials, our holidays, our luxuries, but what if mental health is not stable enough to enjoy all of that?
To enjoy success, enjoy being in the moment and all that you have, it takes practice to invest in yourself – in your mental health before you hit a problem statement!
