Becoming a mother has been an incredible blessing, adding so much depth and joy to my life. Raising two growing boys has been an adventure, and I cherish every moment of it. Balancing motherhood with my professional life has its challenges, but I’ve been fortunate to have a supportive family and an equally supportive workplace at DoubleTree by Hilton Gurugram Baani Square.
Over the years, I’ve learned two important lessons: the importance of seeking help when needed and the power of saying no and prioritizing myself. Despite being a strong woman, there are times when situations can be challenging, but taking it “one day at a time” has been my mantra for sustaining both my professional and personal life.
At DoubleTree by Hilton Gurugram Baani Square, I’ve been able to pursue my passion while also being a dedicated mother. The balance is something I’ve found within myself, and I’m grateful for the supportive environment that allows me to thrive both personally and professionally.

Everyone’s sense of “balance” is unique, reflecting their sense of control over the environment and circumstances. I had the privilege of staying home with my two boys for ten years and being a large part of their formative years. Re-entering the workforce posed challenges and it took over 100 rejections before securing a job, but the toughest part was coping with self-imposed guilt over wanting a fulfilling career. Over the past decade, thanks to a supportive network, I attained numerous promotions, ultimately landing a role on the FCM leadership team. Parallelly, my boys have grown into wonderful individuals and that is my sense of balance.

Balancing the roles of a businesswoman and a mother simultaneously is both rewarding and challenging. As a working woman and a mother, I can attest to the complex emotions and experiences that come with navigating these dual responsibilities.
On one hand, there is a profound sense of fulfillment in excelling professionally and contributing to the workforce while setting an example for my children. It’s empowering to pursue my career ambitions and demonstrate that women can thrive in leadership roles.
However, this balancing act requires careful time management, prioritization, and flexibility. Juggling meetings, deadlines, and business commitments alongside parenting duties requires resilience and adaptability. There are moments of guilt when work commitments take precedence over family time, and vice versa.
As a mother, I cherish the special moments with my children and strive to be present for important milestones despite my demanding schedule. It’s about finding a harmonious blend of professional success and meaningful family connections.
Ultimately, balancing these roles has taught me valuable lessons in resilience, time management, and self-care. It’s about embracing imperfection, seeking support from loved ones and colleagues, and celebrating the small victories along the way.
“As a working woman and a mother, I believe in the importance of advocating for workplace policies that support work-life balance and empower women to thrive in both their careers and motherhood journeys. Together, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for working mothers everywhere.”

Equation between mother and a child is something magically and hard to explain. Finding balance between the demands of a career and the joys of motherhood truly is a journey filled with both challenges and rewards. My emphasis is always on setting priorities, establishing boundaries, and embracing flexibility resonates deeply. Structured schedules and self-care routines are indeed vital tools in navigating the complexities of juggling multiple roles. As a navigator of both roles together, I believe in – Trusting myself, being kind to myself, and remembering that I am doing my best in both the roles as a mother and a working woman.

Motherhood has been an incredible journey filled with love, sacrifice, and boundless joy. When I became a mother for the first time, my whole world changed, and I suddenly had the most important job on the planet. Balancing the roles of a working woman and a mother can be quite challenging, but I’ve been fortunate to have a strong support system, both personally and professionally, at DoubleTree by Hilton Gurugram Baani Square.
The management and my colleagues have been incredibly supportive, providing me with flexible work hours, opportunities for remote work, and even the option to bring my child to work when needed. These benefits have made it much easier to manage the juggling act of being a working mother.
One important lesson I’ve learned is the value of finding people who will support and help you, both mentally and physically. It’s also okay to prioritize spending quality time with your child over finishing chores or replying to emails. Being present in the moment is key, and managing your energy is more important than managing your time. With the support of my workplace and my loved ones, I’ve been able to thrive both personally and professionally on this beautiful journey of motherhood.

Hygiene manager, KOCHI MARRIOTT HOTEL
Motherhood presents challenges, especially with a 4-year-old son and a demanding job that requires me to be omnipresent at the hotel. Managing this while nine months pregnant is no easy feat. However, thanks to understanding family and colleagues, I’ve found a balance between work and motherhood. Being an active and energetic mother is crucial for my child’s growth and development. Working during pregnancy has also been beneficial, keeping me energized and lifting me from moments of depression. My career is as vital as my family, and I’ve mastered the art of harmonizing work and personal life, without feeling overwhelmed. I am grateful for the support of my family and husband, who acknowledge that my work benefits both me and our family’s well-being. Women’s multitasking abilities are a boon, aiding in effectively managing both career and personal life.

Balancing the roles of a working woman and a mother is like walking a tightrope, requiring constant adjustment and careful planning. Having joined Marriott three years ago, I embraced this journey with enthusiasm before taking a brief hiatus and returning nine months ago. As a Loss & Prevention associate and a mother of two and a half, I’ve learned to navigate the intricate dance between career and family life. Opting for night shifts ensures I cherish precious moments with my children during the day, demonstrating my unwavering commitment to both aspects of my life. My journey reflects resilience and determination, evident in my consistent participation in guest voice sessions, where my insights contribute to the company’s growth. Balancing these responsibilities isn’t without its challenges, but I tackle them head-on, hopeful that my experiences inspire others on similar journeys.
