India, April 21, 2023 – CapitaLand Investment Limited’s (CLI) wholly-owned lodging business unit, The Ascott Limited (Ascott) announced the appointment of Rohan Rakendath as Area General Manager, India. Rakendath joins the Ascott International Management team, India following his successful tenure at Ascott International Management (MEA) in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Rohan will be bringing more than three decades of experience in the hospitality industry to his current role. His past stints include working with many properties having high-volume F&B outlets and strategic management experience across luxury hotel groups including Marriott International MEA, Intercontinental Hotel Group EMEA and The Ascott Limited.

With Rohan Rakendath on-board as the Area General Manager, Ascott’s vision for India is set to develop strategic growth plans in-line with consumer trends, as well as put more focus on developing next-generation leaders for running a responsible and sustainable business. Rohan will supervise the broader leadership agenda to drive business and operations in its existing portfolio of hotels representing the brand in Chennai, as well as take up the responsibilities of both pre-opening and development of all the new properties across Indian market.

Rohan is a B. Com graduate from St. Xavier’s College (Kolkata) and he also pursued Hotel Management degree from the Institute of Hotel Management, Kolkata. During his leisure time, he indulges in fishing, off-roading, and cycling.
