New Delhi, December 19, 2022: Accor India and South Asia joined hands with India Vision Institute for a vision screening campaign, supporting over 16,000 disadvantaged children in Delhi and Chennai.

India Vision Institute (IVI) is an Indian not-for-profit NGO with the vision to provide access to primary eye care for the underprivileged and a pair of corrective glasses to every Indian in need of one. IVI’s outreach and advocacy activities also include awareness generation, engaging communities, schools, partner institutions and others through talks, education, skill enhancement, and leadership development.

The screening campaign aims to benefit children from government and tribal schools in Delhi – NCR and Chennai. Such an initiative aims to ensure that children have the best possible vision enabling them to see better and continue their studies effectively, as well as improve their quality of life. A team of optometrists and other team members from India Vision Institute (IVI) conducted the vision screening for the school children following an established protocol.

“Accor India and South Asia continues its drive to promote a better future for children from underprivileged families through our CSR initiatives. Such activities allow us to make a tangible impact on the less fortunate and help showcase our commitment to empowering children with vision. We are proud of our association with the India Vision Institute to help achieve their mission of providing access to vision screenings and free spectacles.”

“We are happy to have been a part of the program with Accor India and South Asia that has benefited over 16,000 underprivileged school children in Delhi NCR and Chennai. We are providing free corrective glasses to children found to have refractive errors. Those with other ocular conditions are referred to hospital for further treatment. Children perform several visual tasks in a day. Good vision is important not only to study but also in their overall development, including while they are at play both in school and at home.”
