Minor Hotels, a leading global hospitality group, is delighted to announce the appointment of Torsten Richter as Area General Manager of Indonesia and Malaysia and General Manager of Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas, effective July 1st. In addition to day-to-day management of Anantara Desaru Coast, Richter’s responsibilities include oversight of the Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort, Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort and the soon-to-open

Anantara Ubud Bali Resort.

Richter’s career spanning three decades in the hospitality industry. Proficiency in managing both resorts and city hotels, he has held leadership positions in several major destinations worldwide, including Thailand, Indonesia, the Maldives, Germany, the United States of

America and the UK. Most recently, Richter served as the multi-property General Manager at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Hotel Am Steinplatz Autograph Collection in Berlin, Germany,

where he oversaw operations and ensured the highest standards of luxury and service. His experience includes time with Minor Hotels’ resorts in the Maldives as Cluster General Manager of Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort, Anantara Veli Maldives Resort and Naladhu Private Island Maldives.

A German national, Richter holds certifications in Food & Beverage Management, Revenue Management, and Sales & Marketing from Cornell University.
