National, 09 August 2024: Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline, pledges its commitment to safety and security by joining hands with the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) to celebrate Aviation Security Culture Week, held from August 5th to 11th, 2024. In adherence to ICAO guidelines, this commemorative initiative aims to intensify collective commitment to maintaining and enhancing security in the aviation industry. The week serves as a reminder that security is everybody’s responsibility, and every individual plays a pivotal role in creating a resilient security environment.
This year’s theme, “Enhancing Passenger Security through Effective Divestment”, underscores the importance of effective screening processes in safeguarding the aviation environment. The initiative is designed to heighten awareness and ensure the implementation of best practices in security screening procedures.
In active participation and support of this initiative, Akasa Air will educate passengers through social media campaigns, airport signage, and SMS messages about effective screening procedures, the importance of not carrying prohibited items, and properly divesting required items before screening. The airline will also organise on-ground activities at its stations and training facilities with information sessions, digital efforts, and a collective companywide pledge-taking ceremony to raise awareness and encourage responsible behaviour.
“At Akasa Air, our foremost priority is the safety and well-being of our passengers and crew. We recognize that ensuring safe operations is about fostering a proactive, safety-oriented mindset at every level of our organisation. We have partnered with the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security to observe Aviation Security Culture Week and reinforce our commitment to aviation safety, security, and excellence. We are dedicated to continuously improving our practices and working collaboratively to uphold the trust placed in us by our valued customers and stakeholders of the industry.”
