We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Deepraj Mukherjee as the General Manager for The Westin Chennai Velachery.
A veteran hotelier and a results driven professional, he brings with him more than two decades of rich exposure in Hotel Management and expertise in handling a diverse range of operations. Prior to this role, Mr. Mukherjee was the General Manager for Le Meridien Kochi, pivoting the 223 key legacy hotel to clock in resounding success with his astute business acumen, heralding the golden years for the iconic hotel. He achieved this through a strategic positioning of the hotel and actively driving quality initiatives, playing upon the unique offerings and strengths of the Le Meridien Brand, helping turn around guest satisfaction while also ensuring employee and owner relations.
He started his career with Goa Marriott as a Manager in Training quickly gaining experience in F&B operations and exposure to large scale catering events as well as the fine dining restaurant spaces.
In his career journey spanning over the last two decades, he has worked with some of the finest hotels in and around India, namely, Goa Marriott Resort, Taj Bengal, Taj Exotica Resort & Spa- Maldives, Taj Palace Hotel- New Delhi, Umaid Bhawan Palace- Jodhpur, Hilton- Bangalore and Le Meridien hotels in the kingdom of Bhutan.
An alumnus of IHM, Goa, he has also graduated in PGDMM from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. An enthusiastic leader with an energetic and affable personality, he is deeply passionate about people and their development.
An avid reader, he also loves travelling, diving, snorkeling, trekking. He will be joined by his wife and 2 kids in Chennai.
