Since July 2022, the resort has been powered entirely by renewable energy sources, eliminating reliance on fossil fuels. This groundbreaking initiative aligns with Marriott’s Serve360 goals and reflects a deep commitment to combatting climate change and reducing carbon footprints.

The resort’s innovative initiatives encompass various aspects of sustainable operations. The Sewage Treatment Plant exemplifies efficient waste management for the resort. With a capacity of 125 kiloliters per day, the plant recycles 100% of the water, which is then utilized to maintain its vast landscape and lawns of the resort. This closed-loop system minimizes water waste and exemplifies our commitment to conserving this precious resource.

To combat the pressing issue of single-use plastics, Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort and Spa installed an Ultraviolet Reverse Osmosis water system. This transformative initiative aims to eliminate single-use plastic bottles throughout the property. Guests will be provided with reusable glass bottles filled with UV-treated water, reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainable practices.

Energy conservation is another pillar of Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort and Spa’s sustainability strategy. The property is illuminated entirely with energy-efficient LED lights, showcasing our dedication towards reducing energy consumption.
