Ministry of Railways has launched “One Station One Product” (OSOP) scheme with objective to promote the ‘Vocal for Local’ vision of the Government of India, provide a market for local/indigenous products and create additional income opportunities for the marginalised sections of the society. This scheme aims to provide enhanced opportunities for livelihood to local artisans, potters, weavers /handloom weavers, craftsmen etc, through provision of sale outlets at Railways Stations across the Country.
As on 30.11.2023, 1189 OSOP outlets have been made operational at 1083 stations. These OSOP outlets have been allotted to the local beneficiaries which inter-alia include 184 Artisans, 630 Craftsmen, 147 Weavers, 202 Agricultural/Forest product producers etc.
As on 30.11.2023, a total of 1189 OSOP outlets are operational at 1083 stations.
The aim of the scheme is to provide enhanced opportunities for livelihood to local artisans, potters, weavers /handloom weavers, craftsmen etc. through provision of sale outlets at Railways Stations. So far, a total of 41,280 direct beneficiaries have availed the opportunities being offered under the OSOP scheme.
It is continuous endeavour of Indian Railways to proliferate the coverage of OSOP scheme at railway stations across the country. As on 30.11.2023, 1189 OSOP outlets are operational at 1083 stations.
Development of stations and provision of Passenger amenities including provision of OSOP outlets are generally funded under Plan Head – 53 ‘Customer Amenities’.
