For 2023 we are focused on Marriott’s “ Serve 360 – doing good in every direction’ campaign in order to reduce all aspects of the properties impact on the environment. We monitor, weight and add the Data into Marriott Environmental Sustainability Hub (MESH) to give us a clear picture of our electricity and water usage and understanding out waste output. YTD we have removed plastic bottles from rooms and FB outlets as well as eliminated plastic straws and stirrers. Recently we have launched a pilot project for our food waste to be turned into fertilizer. Currently we are processing 30kg of food waste a day which goes back into our gardens. This helps us to produce 1300kg of vegetables a month to use in the restaurants.  We also use cage free chicken eggs we practice responsible seafood program where we do not use endangered species. The fertilizer will also be used across the hotel grounds for our coconut trees. These coconuts are then harvested by our gardeners and returned to the restaurant and bars to use. This is a perfect example of how we incorporate Serve 360 in our daily operations and also a great story for our associates to share with the guests.
