World Environment Day is an annual global celebration held on 5 June, dedicated to raising awareness and driving action for the protection of our environment. This year, under the theme #BeatPlasticPollution, Sheraton Grand Palace Indore is taking a proactive stance to address the urgent need for a systems change to combat the causes of plastic pollution. With a firm commitment to sustainability, We aim to lead by example and inspire others to follow suit.

Plastic pollution has reached alarming levels, with the rate of plastic production outpacing that of any other material. If current growth trends persist, it is projected that global production of primary plastic will reach a staggering 1,100 million tonnes by 2050. The time for preventive measures is now, before irreparable damage is done.

Recognizing the critical role it plays in promoting environmental responsibility, We have implemented a series of initiatives aimed at reducing plastic consumption and protecting our planet. These measures include:

a. Offering guests disposable cups made from recycled materials, ensuring their convenience while minimizing environmental impact.

b. Ensuring that all guest room bathroom amenities and sleepers are completely plastic-free, providing a sustainable and eco-friendly experience for our valued guests.

c. Exclusively using recyclable water bottles in our restaurants and hotel, prioritizing the preservation of natural resources.

d. Replacing traditional plastic carry bags with environmentally friendly options made of recyclable paper, encouraging guests to join us in our commitment to a plastic-free future.

e. Utilizing recyclable garbage bags for waste collection, further demonstrating our dedication to responsible waste management.

Beyond these actions, we actively participates in environmental conservation efforts through monthly tree plantation drives. For every room in our hotel, we plant a proportionate number of trees, contributing to the restoration and preservation of our natural surroundings.

While individual actions are crucial, we recognizes the need for collective responsibility. Governments and local authorities play a vital role in driving systemic change. We urge policymakers to introduce legislation that reduces the production of harmful and unnecessary plastics, incentivizes sustainable business practices, and invests in improved waste management infrastructure.
