Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Muscat has added aerial yoga to its comprehensive fitness programme. A first in Oman, the aerial yoga sessions are guided and closely monitored by Alexa, a certified aerial yoga teacher. Open to both resident and non-resident guests, this highly acclaimed practice uses colourful nylon-tricot hammocks securely rigged to the beams that can support more than 3,600 kg of moving weight. The sessions can be enjoyed as a fun activity in a group (maximum of seven people) or with an intimate partner.
A slightly advanced form is aerial flow yoga, which is a dynamic and challenging practice that combines traditional yoga poses with aerial hammock movements through a series of fluid and graceful transitions.
