Amongst the other major objectives of the hotel, focussing towards a cleaner, greener and better future through more innovative measures is something that the hotel focuses on.
As one enters the property spread across the tranquil countryside, you will be able to see the Electronic Vehicle Charging Stations, which encourages adoption of EVs and makes electric mobility aspirational. With various categories of Electronic charging stations with various units, these charging stations can easily be located through google. Among the many sustainability initiatives undertaken by The Westin Sohna Resort & Spa over the past few years, is the ongoing installation of an on-site water plant, which will provide guests with sparkling freshwater with a zero carbon footprint.
In addition to these, the hotel also features an inbuilt rainwater harvesting pit, which helps in the prevention of soil erosion, and the collected rainwater is also used back in the hotel to promote recycling. The employee only areas such as employee restrooms, cafeteria, and kitchens have a special spray aerator that further helps in water conservation.
The Westin Sohna Resort & Spa offers to its guests a curated experience of ‘Go Local: Farm to Table’, an experience crafted exclusively in-house by the team for guests to be able to understand the concept of sustainable eating. It involves a traditional farming experience which helps the guests learn more about the unique village culture of India and connect with the soil while participating in the farming activities. The guests are taken to the organic farming zone, where they can interact and gain more insight from the in house horticulturists and farming experts while getting hands-on experience of planting and picking their own seasonal fruits and vegetables. The seasonal fruits and vegetables that you can plant and pick amongst the sweet fresh air includes lettuce, broccoli, mangoes, chikoos, jamuns, bel and lemons The chef’s team prepares the picked fruits and vegetables as per the liking of the guests. The guests while on the tour of the property can also indulge into learning more about activities such as beekeeping, vermicomposting, rainwater harvesting, greywater filtering, crop rotation and the like.
