Please share your initiative towards the good health of your staff

We are in the hospitality business, and as they say hospitality begins at home. To begin with, we have regular health checkups. We have a stringent policy setup that ensures that all our staff our taken care of. We also conduct a daily briefing with our staff, where in we check on their health, hygiene and grooming, apart from the regular service training. We strongly advise our staff to either take an off, work from home or inform us if their health is under duress. We also train the staff to maintain adequate distance with other staff as well as customers during service.

Apart from this, we have ensured that our staff gets adequate rest between shifts. We also have set up a spick and span cafeteria where the staff can have their meals.

In times of mental duress we ensure that we counsel the staff and give them adequate support.

Do you feel guests these days are more health conscious? And how has healthy lifestyle choices of guests impacted the trends of the hospitality industry?

While health consciousness has certainly increased across customer segments in India, as far as dining out goes, the impact is not that profound. At large, the focus is still on quality and palatability rather than the healthy aspects. For example, vegan food, lactose-free food & beverages, gluten free item sales are growing, however the growth is not as exponential within our segment for it to have a noticeable impact as yet.

Please share initiatives taken by your brand on world health day.

We have recently held a blood donation camp. At the same time, we have taken the recent risk of H3N2 very seriously and have held awareness campaigns amongst our staff to ensure that they are well prepared and take appropriate measures.
